Critical reflection.

Module reflection The Effective Communication Module was a great learning experience. In the module, I was exposed to many learning opportunities given to me by Professor Blackstone. Before attending this module, I was very weak at my writing skills and communication skills. The module has many activities such as technical report writing and oral presentation to expose us to the different writing and communication skills we need for when we start working. Under Professor Blackstone's guidance, we have to write a summary report about an article found on the internet. Even though I've made any mistake on the summary writing, he gave me constructive feedback on the area I need to improve on which helps me a lot. We are also asked to write a formal letter about ourselves and post it on the blog. Our classmate has given us comment on the blog post which helps each of us understand and learn together the area we improve on the writing skills. For communication skills, we have to

MEC 1281 Summary Analysis Draft #3 By Seah Ji Yang Don 21 st  Feb 2021 According to the article “Introducing the Seabin Project” (2018), The Seabin project highlights the damage microplastics can cause to the ocean’s ecosystem and both the functionality and benefits of the Seabin. In the article Jateff highlights marine mammals and birds in particular which ingest these plastics accidentally. The article explains that the Seabin functions by acting like a "large pool skimmer" that is powered from using a "110 or 220 V motor" to create a vortex, sucking debris out of the water and into the bag that is within the bin while pushing clean water back out. The article also explains that the Seabin team are still developing it to be carbon-free, with the use of solar panels to power it and also to develop a recycled material catch-bag. The project also serves not only as an individual effort by the organization but also calls for community involvement in an att

Assignment 1: Formal Letter

Dear Professor Brad, My name is Don Seah Ji Yang and I am your student from effective communication class T6. I received my Nitec in Aerospace Technology (2011-2013) at the Institute of Technology Education (Yishun Campus ) and furthered my studies to Higher Nitec in Mechatronic (2013-2015) at Institute of Technology Education College Central. Thereafter, I pursued my diploma for Biomedical Engineering (2015-2018) at Nanyang Polytechnic.  I had a revelation about what I would like to work as in the future when I had participated in WorldSkills' 10th ASEAN Skills Competition during my studies in Higher Nitec. I was given the opportunity to be in charge of mechanical assembly. This position was out of my comfort zone but I persevered and broadened my knowledge. This allowed me to gain useful insight on mechanical engineering and the application of such processes in the real world. My strength in communication is my ability to be confident when speaking with others for the firs
